Being an IT person, I used IBM Blueworks for my US based client work for Banking industry. I personally feel best thing about this is users can collaborate in real time on process diagrams using Blueworks. Live's exceptional progress mapping and modelling capabilities, which make it simple to generate visual representations of business processes. In our project, IBM Blueworks is utilised to improve the customer experience when interacting with the company's customer assistance for any support or inquiries.
  • In our project, IBM Blueworks is utilised to improve the customer experience when interacting with the company's customer assistance for any support or inquiries.
  • Teams can utilise process mapping elements in web-based solutions to document new or current processes.
  • In my opinion, the tool is quite intuitive and very efficient.
  • As I have used this tool 2 months back and have worked on it for approximately 6-7 months. For that particular timeframe I found that it can enhancable in areas of integration to accommodate additional ERP and CRM tools .
I can say it is not only good but it is best Automation tool ever. Its streamline our business project and with web based solution it allows my team to document existing or new processes using process mapping capabilities. It provides powerful analytics and it is easy to use via online. I personally feel it is very intutive.

For less Appropriate I can say only in terms of integration perspective with different CRM tools. Rest is all good!!!!

An efficient tool that prioritizes daily process modeling rather than competing with other technologies, lowering the total cost of ownership and enabling users to go steadily through the learning curve while still having the ability to access more sophisticated features as necessary. I am incredibly delighted with IBM Blueworks Live straight forward design, and I particularly like the mapping features!
  • Refine business process.
  • Easy to use.
  • collaborative environment
  • the only difficulty has been figuring out some of its more sophisticated features learning curve. it is difficult to fully comprehend because to its size.
creating reference models for the way the company runs; Planning changes and creating a shared language for their potential effects. customer support also very helpfull

My client relies on IBM Blueworks Live for streamlining their business processes. They've found it incredibly useful for mapping out workflows clearly and efficiently, which has been a big help in reducing misunderstandings and speeding up project timelines. It just keeps everyone on the same page, including myself with the client.
  • Process mapping and visualization
  • Documentation and standardization of processes
  • Ease of use
  • More advanced reporting and analytics options
  • A more modern user interface
  • Better mobile experience
IBM Blueworks Live shines in environments where collaborative process mapping and standardization are key—ideal for teams looking to streamline workflows and maintain documentation centrally. May fall short for businesses needing deep system integrations or advanced analytics, and its mobile experience could be limiting for those heavily reliant on on-the-go access.

I use Blueworks to develop process maps of business processes and technology workflows.
  • Easy to create process diagrams quickly, while collaborating with others.
  • Create linkages to sub-processes and other workflows.
  • Track activities using metadata such as which IT systems are utilized.
  • Use the glossary terms to find where different roles or systems are involved in processes throughout your org.
  • I wish there were more options for activity-type icons besides just activities and gateway diamonds.
  • I really wish IBM would fix the way the icons for Activity Type, such as "Robot Task" or "Service Task," appear in the corner of the activity box in a way that often overlaps the text description so you can't read it.
  • It's a silly thing, but for darker color coding shades, the text should turn to white for the legibility of the text. It is hard to read when some colors are applied.
It's an excellent tool for quickly creating detailed process maps and diagrams on the fly right when you're collaborating on process design or changes. I love the ability to step through a path using the Playback mode. The glossary and use of metadata in the documentation for process steps create a lot of useful analysis and reporting options. If you commit to using Blueworks across a whole team/dept's workflows, you can get some great insights on process opportunities (automation?) and challenges very efficiently.

We´ve been using IBM Blueworks Live to map business processes and easily generate content to support the creation of learning content for training programs of our clients. The product is very helpful to provide a collaborative environment with powerful features and has an intuitive interface. Actually our mapping process is more optimized and easier to manage.
  • User-friendly interface
  • Collaborative features
  • Process analysis and optimization features
  • It could have more advanced modeling features
  • Lack of customization options for reports and dashboards
  • Better support for offline access and sync options
I believe that IBM Blueworks Live is an excellent choice for teams or projects where there is a constant need for collaboration, especially in remote settings. The cloud environment is certainly a significant advantage in this scenario. The product is good enough for mapping processes of any type and complexity. It's worth noting that in mapping projects involving compliance or governance issues, the product offers specific features that are quite useful.

In our sales department, we use Blueworks Live to map out our sales process. We are able to break down the process and visually see how things are being done. By visually seeing the process, we are able to pinpoint our faults and improve upon these things in the process. By using Blueworks Live, we are able to make sure our process is fool-proof and strong.
  • Cloud-based
  • Very Intuitive tool
  • Documentation
  • Loading can be slow
  • Customization of reports
  • Analytics can be improved
Blueworks Live is a software suited for companies that are trying to map out their business process. One can break down their process to whatever detail one wishes, and one can see it down to the microscopic detail. By seeing a process so detailed, we are able to see where something might be holding something else up, and we can then improve on that to make the whole process a little smoother.

Blueworks Live is used as a business process modeler and management platform. It is generally forced onto customers on any large project that is led by IBM, since this is their standard solution for process modelling and helps their team deploy predefined templates and practices - as well as accelerating the project time-to-market.
  • Out-of-the-box integration with the IBM Suite
  • Intuitive and easy-to-use for any business analyst
  • Lots of options to work with Microsoft products
  • Pricing is prohibitive for any non-Large Enterprise customer
  • User experience is very dated
  • Not a true BPMN2 modeler so you'll have a hard time migrating to another solution later on
It's hard to recommend a tool that does not follow the universal industry standard (BPMN2). Like Visio, it looks and feels like the standard is respected (shapes, naming convention, etc.) but Blueworks Live does not in fact follow any of it. It is a good tool for any company that is primarily looking at drawing diagrams (e.g., export them as images), as opposed to building live processes.

Blueworks is being used by the complete organization across the globe to suggest leading practices that we have already modeled in the tool and also to model our client's complete processes. This in turn helps to do gap analysis between current state and target state and identify improvement areas for them. Because of its ease of use, it is a preferred tool for many of our clients.
  • Cloud based, hence quick and easy access without any installation requirement
  • Easy and intuitive, making modeling much easier
  • Visio import is one of the best in Blueworks
  • Low cost compared to some other tools in the market
  • User management is quite easy from an admin perspective
  • Ability to customize reports like change the layout if required
  • To add more BPMN symbols (at least task types like script task)
  • Ability to create pools in BPMN diagram, or else it cannot be integreated with SAP SolMan
Blueworks is well suited when only process modeling needs to be done, when processes from Visio need to be converted, and when end to end integrated flows need to be created

It's less appropriate when enterprise-wide architecture modeling is needed like org charts, application architecture, if it has to be integrated with SAP SolMan, and when simulation needs to be done.

We use Blueworks Live to map many of our business processes. We are starting to use it together with other business functions, using it as a collaboration tool.
  • It is a very simple tool.
  • It allows you to define roles and responsibilities and identify where a particular process, system, input, or activity is used.
  • Reporting should be improved to allow you to select the attributes to be downloaded (in Word files) and attributes from connected (in Excel).
  • In the diagrams, it should allow you to design the connectors yourself.
We use Blueworks for mapping industry, financials, and claims processes.

Our company uses it to capture processes and decisions for our clients. We use it with many clients in various industries. Lack of managing policies, processes, and decisions that are key business assets.
  • Business user-friendly - most business people can start to utilize BWL very quickly.
  • Easy way to capture and build processes starting with the discovery map.
  • Central repository for a single truth for areas to go to. Business architects can understand the current process and begin to do to-be models. Business Analysts can know where to go and start to get the current as-Is model, rather than spending time and effort trying to capture the information from SMEs to just get a project started.
  • Analytics - the ability to have more robust analytics. For processes being able to get information about the metadata and to be able to export that information. In addition, being able to capture end-to-end processes, sub-processes, and linked processes. To get the analytics across that value chain. To be able to export that for various areas to do analysis, problems, and opportunities.
  • Reporting - Being able to have reported. For such a business-facing tool, the reporting capabilities are non-existent. This to me is a drawback to more adoption by the business. Business shouldn't have to go to IT to build reports using APIs.
  • CM - Being able to capture content in BWL. Keeping pace with Digital Business Automation means BWL has to be enhanced to stay current. I feel that changes get made only after a competitor comes out with a new model capturing ability. BWL can be a great tool and should be invested in and improved with innovations not just catch up.
  • Create the ability to ingest Decisions into IBM ODM product.
BWL is a great tool that can easily be used by business customers. It also is a great tool to build a Center of Excellence - providing customers the ability to manage their policies, processes, and decisions in one location. A single source of truth that can be leveraged to meet compliance, understand where information is being used, analysis of where laws and regulations impact processes and decisions. A tool to be leveraged to maintain knowledge and provide the ability to transfer knowledge to new employees. Organizations that used this tool to maintain and manage these assets will be able to make changes more rapidly and have confidence in the decisions they make because the tool is the single source of truth. BWL provides the tool to build a culture of continuous improvement and optimization within an organization that is willing to implement the discipline that goes along with the tool. BWL should be the central tool for all change management, lean six sigma, TQM and any other method or approach used by an organization.
